Agave multifilifera
b4
This gorgeous Agave is immediately recognizable by its narrow, stiff, green leaves that carry copious amounts of curly, white, threadlike fibers on the margins. It can become quite large and form a dense, hemispherical, usually solitary rosette with countless individual leaves that make it a highly desirable ornamental. It is native to Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango and Sinaloa in Mexico where it grows between 1400 and 2100 m (4500 and 7000 ft.) on rocky slopes and cliffs in pine and oak forest. In cultivation it can cope with drought and severe freezes.
