It is native to Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango and Sinaloa in Mexico where it grows between 1400 and 2100 m (4500 and 7000 ft.) on rocky slopes and cliffs in pine and oak forest. In cultivation it can cope with drought and severe freezes.

Agave parryi truncata
£4.50Hardy in uk to minus 12C
Certainly the most amazing out of the different varieties of A. parryi, this one forms short, broad, beautiful pale or silvery green leaves, with a short, black terminal thorn, in a compact, cup-shaped rosette to 35 cm (1 ft.) across, or perhaps larger in cultivation. Native to Zacatecas, Mexico, where it grows in dry, rocky places in open pine forest, it is less cold hardy than var. parryi but easily makes up in beauty for this.
