  • Agave parryi truncata

    £5.00

Hardy in uk to minus 12C

Certainly the most amazing out of the different varieties of A. parryi, this one forms short, broad, beautiful pale or silvery green leaves, with a short, black terminal thorn, in a compact, cup-shaped rosette to 35 cm (1 ft.) across, or perhaps larger in cultivation. Native to Zacatecas, Mexico, where it grows in dry, rocky places in open pine forest, it is less cold hardy than var. parryi but easily makes up in beauty for this.

    £6.00

Discovered in 2018 by Salomon Javier Romero, growing on rocky outcrops in a remote valley in Oaxaca, this stunningly beautiful Agave was first introduced into horticulture by rarepalmseeds.com in 2019 as Agave sp. 'Magnifica'. It has now been given a proper botanical name, published in 2022 by Greg Starr. Agave salomonii is a medium-sized agave that forms groups of compact rosettes with broad, pale green leaves that are whitish below. It will make a gorgeous ornamental suitable for a range of warm temperate climates.
